Great team spirit ensured that the Pre Prep Sports Day on 28 June was one of the highlights towards the end of term. It got off to a flying start and saw the children take part in competitive running and relay races. The children also competed in various novelty races which included a dressing up race, an obstacle race, an egg and spoon race and a sack race.

A Pre Prep parent commented, “It was so seamless, the atmosphere was wonderful, the support from all the side lines was fantastic, the children competed exceptionally well and the organisation by the PE department made sure everything ran as smoothly as possible.” Director of Sport, Mr McComb, added, “The Form 5 children who came to help ensured the afternoon went with ease. They were there on the finish line to congratulate all the children for taking part and to give them their badges. They were also instrumental in setting up and clearing away any equipment for races and their kind words of support and hi-fives meant a lot to the Pre Prep children.”

One Pre Prep child enthused, “I kept looking down the line to the finish and kept my arms pumping.” Another child said, “I clapped very hard when my friend won the egg and spoon and my hands were sore.” After their exciting afternoon of sports the children enjoyed a well-deserved tea with their families on the playing field.
