The stage could not have been set more perfectly for this year’s PA Fireworks night which took place on Thursday 3 November. The day was crisp and cold but, as evening approached, the temperature rose and it turned into a warm and dry evening for the display.
PA Chair Ms Caroline Chilvers explained, “We are lucky to have a long association with Kimbolton Fireworks who were the supplier of pyrotechnics and fireworks to the 2012 Olympics and each year put on the most spectacular display. This year did not disappoint and we were treated to a magnificent display of great beauty and variety.”
Before and after the display the children shot around with light sticks whirling like fireworks themselves, perhaps fuelled by the copious amounts of hot dogs, doughnuts and hot chocolate consumed on the night!
Huge thanks as ever to Mr Richard Goldby and his team of caterers who stayed late to prepare and serve the delicious food and drinks and also to Mr Carl Maxwell and the maintenance staff who did so much to set up the event and ensure it ran safely on the night.
Thanks also to the record number of parents and staff who volunteered to help on the night with ticketing and serving food and drink and to the many who donned rubber gloves and turned out on the playing fields the following morning to collect up rubbish and debris.
Ms Caroline Chilvers commented, “It was a cracking night thanks to the efforts of a large team of volunteers and staff.”
