We are thrilled to announce that St John's College School has been named as the Pre-Prep School of the Year at the prestigious Independent Schools of the Year Awards 2024.
I am so proud of all our staff and so pleased that this work we do at St John’s that is core to our philosophy and ethos has been recognised in this way.
(Neil Chippington, Headmaster)
We are incredibly proud of our Pre-Prep team, whose dedication and nurturing spirit embody the heart of our ethos. Their innovative teaching and learning methods, coupled with our tailored Emotions for Learning curriculum and emphasis on play-based learning, make all the difference.
At the heart of our submission was our Emotions for Learning (E4L) programme. The judges remarked on how important the skills we are teaching within E4L are in equipping our children for the complexities of the modern world and how we are continuing to develop these skills as children move through the School. Our collaboration with Connections in Mind is an important part of this.
A school that really understands children and tries to always see things from a child's perspective.

Over 200 members of the independent schools sector, including headteachers, leading educationalists and the panel of judges gathered at the awards ceremony to hear who had triumphed in the 24 categories. The awards were hosted by Independent School Parent magazine.
With over 700 nominations for categories that ranged from Independent Boys' School of the Year to the Best Use of Education Technology, the competition was fierce and the judges admitted that it had been hard to choose a triumphant school from each category's list of finalists.
