We were delighted to welcome pupils and staff from King's Ely for our annual Jazz Evening, a celebration of musical talent, collaboration, and the joy of live music.

King's Ely's Jazz Band gave a first-class performance of a beautifully conceived set, which included 'Batman', 'The Pink Panther' and other classics, in the first half of the concert. Our audience clearly loved the entertainment on offer. The Jazz Band was joined by one of our Gap Students who left King's Ely last year.

After the interval, the SJCS Big Band and the King's Ely Jazz Band combined to perform 'The Man in the Mirror' and a Harry Potter medley and our pupils were clearly inspired by the experience of playing with the older students. SJCS pupils continued with various solo and Rednotes ensemble items, ranging from Hoagy Carmichael and Billy Joel to Phil Collins and Dua Lipa, and gave an outstanding account of themselves under the inspirational direction of Mr Lepage-Dean (vocal solos and Rednotes).

The evening showcased incredible performances from both schools, with pupils coming together to deliver a vibrant and energetic set, highlighting their musical skills and love for jazz. Their shared passion for music made it a truly special event.
